An Interview With Alison Hekker

How many years have you been selling travel?
I began my career in 1988 as an airline customer service agent. I moved careers to a travel consultant 14 years ago then into the role of branch manager in 2019.

What are your hobbies?
I love to travel, camp and spend time with my family.

What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
I love to walk the beaches, snorkel and lounge by the pools. I do like to take in some of the local cultures as well.

What are your favorite destinations?
I have to say Mexico is my favorite destination. I love the Pacific side of Mexico for their amazing sunsets as well as the Caribbean side for the white sandy beaches and snorkeling of the resort. Isla Mujeres, a small island off of Cancun is a must. Take the ferry across and rent a golf cart and explore !

Puerto Vallarta - 2020

My husband and I were lucky enough to travel to Puerto Vallarta at the end of February, before the pandemic hit. We decided to travel north of Puerto Vallarta to an area called Rincon de Guayabitos. Guayabitos Mexico boasts a two-kilometer stretch of incredible beach. Guayabitos beach is a constant celebration of color and joyous activity. It is common to see children building sandcastles, jumping in the gentle surf, and playing with their siblings on these tropical shores. Entire families gather together here on Guayabitos beach to enjoy traditional Mexican fare. Locals and visitors alike are snapping photographs or videotaping the memorable moments. Guayabitos has a wide variety of accommodations available for overnight visitors including all-inclusive hotels, bungalows, bed & breakfasts, rental homes, condominiums, and RV parks.
