Cruising Guide

European Waterways

European Waterways – also known as Go Barging — has for more than 30 years offered luxury barge cruises on the canals and inland waterways of France (Loire Valley, Burgundy, Southern France), as well as Scotland, England and Ireland in Spring, Summer and Fall. These exclusive, flat-bottomed vessels carry only eight to 12 passengers. The whole fleet of 16 provides fine cuisine — most often regional specialties — and complimentary fine wines and liquors. Guests can choose to do as much or as little as they want as the barge glides along shaded waterways, offering picture book vistas of castles, villages and ancient forests.

“For a really fun alternative to traditional river cruising, I recommend European Waterways, where you can rent a private barge for an exclusive extended family getaway. They are great to work with and the barges only accommodate between six and 20 people, so it’s small group touring at its best!”
