Price quoted is per person, based on double occupancy, and is subject to change in case of adverse currency fluctuation. Single supplement: + $999 CDN. Land only: $3493 per person. A non-refundable deposit of $250 per person is due at time of booking (first come, first served). Final payment is due by February 28, 2020. Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended and may be purchased at time of first deposit. Some itinerary details are subject to change. All payments are made to Maritime Travel. A valid Passport is required with at least 6 months validity “after" scheduled return date to Canada. Please advise us if you have any special dietary requirements.

2020 HERITAGE TOUR IRELAND & SCOTLAND • MAY 1-16
DAY 1 - Fri. May 1. Fly from Halifax WS050 10:20 pm
Dublin 7:32 am
DAY 2 - Sat. May 2. Arrive in Dublin. Meet
Driver/Guide Brian Rice. Tour city sites before driving
to ‘Kilkenny Shop’ for brunch. St. Patrick’s Cathedral
and Guinness Storehouse are next. Tour this famous
spot and… will you have a pint at the very top,
overlooking the capital of Ireland? Once we check in
to our hotel you can rest or go shopping or walk to
various Dublin city sites on your own or with Mary
Anne. Catch up on sleep at Jury’s Inn, Parnell St.,
DUBLIN.
DAY 3 - Sun. May 3. Drive to Howth and Phoenix
Park. Visit more of the city center then enjoy DINNER
and SHOW at Arlington Hotel this evening. Back to
Jury’s Inn, Parnell St., DUBLIN.
DAY 4 - Mon. May 4. Drive south. Stop in Kilkenny
for a trolley tour of this medieval city. On to Jerpoint
Sheepdog demo and lost town tour. Youghal Clock
Gate Tower and St Mary’s Collegiate Cathedral add
more to our historical highlights today. Drive to CORK
city. Tonight, stay at the beautiful Maryborough Hotel
and Spa. Enjoy a leisurely swim in the new pool.
DAY 5 - Tues. May 5. Explore Co. Cork-- Old Head
of Kinsale-Lusitania Site (prepare for wild and windy),
Skibbereen Heritage Center tour (it’s the BEST) and
Megalithic Drombeg Stone Circle. We visit small
towns of particular interest to travellers with ancestral
connections. Our evening in BANTRY includes
DINNER at The Maritime Hotel. A pool is for your use
too. Sleep well.
DAY 6 - Wed. May 6. Drive thru Killarney via Tralee,
heading to Galway. Stops when needed! Have a little
walk on the boardwalk, browse and shop in Galway.
Our hotel is only a one-minute walk from Eyre Square
(city center). DINNER together on Princess Corrib
Cruise with Irish dancing, singing and lots of music.
Rest well in Victoria Hotel, GALWAY.
DAY 7 - Thurs. May 7. Drive north to Sligo (Yeats
country and area of Eliza Liddell passengers to NB).
Visit the evocative memorial to sea people at
Mullaghmore. Carry on to beautiful Donegal. Stay at
Station House Hotel in LETTERKENNY tonight.
Enjoy your stay!
DAY 8 - Fri. May 8. Enter Northern Ireland. Visit
Derry’s city walls with Brian guiding us. See the cliffs
at Dunluce Castle and proceed to World Heritage Site
‘Giant’s Causeway’. Drive to Belfast city and tour the
amazing Titanic Museum. Sleep comfortably at
Holiday Inn BELFAST.
DAY 9 - Sat. May 9. Up, up and away we go to
Scotland by ferry! Drive through little towns that
whisper ‘hello’ to Canadians in Restigouche Co. NB.
Visit the birthplace of famous poet, Robert Burns.
Pick up our Scottish Guide (Andy). View Loch
Lomond and continue west to Oban (of whisky fame).
DINNER this evening at our hotel Muthu Alexandra
Hotel, OBAN. Enjoy the indoor pool and relax.
DAY 10 - Sun. May 10. Drive north thru Harry Potter
country!! Visit Glenfinnan Monument. Breathe in the
clear air where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised the
Prince’s Standard in 1845. Now, as we go north, we
are in the area of the filming of The Outlander. A onehour
Loch Ness boat ride and tour give us plenty of
opportunity to do some spying!!! DINNER together
tonight at the Best Western Lochardil in INVERNESS.
DAY 11 - Mon. May 11. Visit Culloden Battlefield and
Clava Cairns (ancient site filmed in The Game of
Thrones). So much history and intrigue! Browse and
shop in Inverness. Tour the local Tomatin distillery.
Overnight again in INVERNESS at the Best Western
Lochardil.
DAY 12 - Tues. May 12. It’s a long drive to the east
coast but the towns and vistas along the way and our
visit to Dunnottar Castle and Stonehaven make the
drive well worth it. We rest tonight at Holiday Inn
Express in ABERDEEN city center.
DAY 13 - Wed. May 13. Go south to St Andrews (of
golf renown). See the original golf course and the
“old” St. Andrews Cathedral ruins in this charming
town. Did any of your forefathers come from Fife?
Onward to EDINBURGH for a sound sleep at the
Edinburgh Marriott Hotel. You can swim at this hotel
as well.
DAY 14 - Thurs. May 14. Visit Edinburgh Castle
(check out the jewels and crowns), shop on the Royal
Mile, climb on board the Royal Yacht Britannia and
learn about the Queen’s more private life! DINNER
together at the lively concert ‘Spirit of Scotland’ in
EDINBURGH. Our rooms at the Marriott are waiting
for us. Sweet dreams!
DAY 15 - Fri. May 15. Head east today. Visit Falkirk
and Bannockburn. Do some last-minute preparation
for returning to Canada. Short farewell gathering of
the whole group tonight. Stay at Holiday Inn Express,
GLASGOW.
DAY 16 - Sat. May 16. Morning flight from Glasgow
WS031 at 9:35 am back to HALIFAX, arriving at 11:43
am. We gain 4 hours on our return
